Outwrite Bookstore is more than just coffee and books--it's a place where a huge cross-section of the community can bump into each other and just hang out.

Outwrite was founded in 1993 and moved to its present location in 1996, occupying a space that had housed an old disco called Red Square. Along with coffee drinks to keep you awake, the cafe also sells delicious sandwiches and scrumptious desserts. Along with a large variety of gay-oriented books, the store also sells CDs, DVDs, magazines, and gifts.

Outwrite also hosts book signings by celebrity authors like Carson Kressley, Tammy Faye Messner, Kyan Douglas, Tab Hunter, Chastity Bono, and Christopher Rice. The next time you're there, be sure to pick up your copy of our book, "ATLANTAboy: An Insider's Guide to Gay Atlanta!"
