DJ Peter Presta: Exclusive Interview
DJ Peter Presta's name might not ring a bell...yet...but his music certainly will.
Presta's single, "Totally Hooked" featuring Bonse, is currently the most requested song on 95.5 The Beat. The DJ actually produced 400 records last year, including Heather Small's popular dance single, "Proud."
The record skyrocketed to the top of the dance charts right after it was featured during the last five minutes of the final episode of "Queer As Folk."
"The producers of the show felt 'Proud' captured the essence of all five seasons," says Presta. "I've been a big fan of the show for some time, so learning they wanted to incorporate my song into the final episode was quite an honor."
But what exactly does a straight man like DJ Peter Presta know about pride?
"In today's day and age, if a straight guy says he can't recognize the gay man's plight, then he is probably dressing up in his mother's clothes behind closed doors.
All of us, as a people, need to embrace and be proud of our differences--and we must demand equal rights for everyone."
