Originally built as a movie palace, the Fox Theatre is a reminder of an era of grandeur.
The mosque-like structure complete with minarets and onion domes--offers an interior space that's even more lavish than its façade.
The Moorish-themed theatre was built in 1929 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. During the week, there are history tours of this building that was almost demolished to make way for a parking lot. The Fox plays host to myriad performances each week, but their summer movie series is a throwback to the theater's original days.
Insider Tip: Check out "The Mighty Mo," a Möller organ that was custom designed for the Fox in 1929. It's also the second largest theatre organ in the nation.
