Stone Mountain Park Georgia

Stone Mountain Park, 1126 Stonewall Jackson Drive, Stone Mountain, GA, 770-498-5600, Map It

Stone Mountain is the world's largest mass of exposed granite, located on 3,200 gorgeous acres 16 miles east of downtown Atlanta.

The centerpiece of the Park -- and one of the true marvels of Western engineering -- is found on the mountain's North side, where you'll see the world's largest relief carving depicting three heroes of the American Confederacy: "Stonewall" Jackson, Robert E. Lee, and Jefferson Davis.

Insider Tip: Check out Stone Mountain's world-famous laser show, which runs from March until April. Call or visit their Web site for more information.
