Louvre Atlanta & Annie Leibovitz: Final Week!

Annie LeibovitzIf you haven't already, this is the final week to see the Louvre's Year One pieces at the High Museum of Art before they return to France...

"Louvre, Atlanta Year 2: Louvre and the Ancient World," opens October 16th. "Louvre Atlanta: Kings as Collectors" and "Louvre Atlanta: Decorative Arts of the Kings" closes on Sunday, September 2nd.

It's also time for Annie Leibovitz's exhibit to leave Atlanta. "Annie Leibovitz: A Photographer's Life, 1990-2005" closes on Sunday, September 9th along with "Cecilia Beaux: American Figure Painter."

If you haven't seen these amazing exhibits yet, the High Museum is extending its hours this week. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both Saturday, September 1st and Sunday, September 2nd. You can buy tickets up to one hour before the museum closes.

With his oil-on-canvas "Rat-Pack-Meets-Picaso" style pieces described as "art with a twist," Todd White has established a long list of celebrity clients including Glenn Close, Vin Diesel, Michael Douglas, and Hugh Hefner.

Often humorous and strangely familiar, his work captures timeless and intimate evenings filled with cocktail-sipping socialites, cigars and paparazzi as his usual subjects.

The WHITENOISE Exhibition takes place the evening of September 29th from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Clay's Gallery (572 Edgewood Avenue, Atlanta, 404-524-1155).

Vaknin Gallery Presents Artist "ARGE"

Renowned pop artist ARGE unveils a new series of work inspired by the people, obsessions and situations of Atlanta's club and drag scene.

The artwork making its debut during this one-man exhibition pays tribute to the people of Atlanta’s club and drag scene of the 90s and their ongoing commitment to raise funds in the fight against HIV. 

Proceeds from sales at the opening night gala will benefit Positive Impact, a nonprofit providing mental health and prevention services for people affected by HIV.

A suggested donation of $10 is requested at the door during the opening night gala.

"ARGE, The Wigwood Years: New York from an Old Queen" runs through July 21 at the Vaknin Gallery.
